About me

I was born and raised a few miles away on the other side of the Brecon Beacons. That’s where my family still lives, and where I went to school at John Beddoes comprehensive in Presteigne.

At university I met my wife Deborah who is a primary school teacher. We have a four-year-old son, and we are expecting our second child at Easter.

I’m passionate about the campaigns I’m involved in. I co-founded one of the most high profile national campaign groups on climate change and later I led national campaigns for Greenpeace, in roles including Head of Media and Political Director.

I have worked for UNICEF and the TUC, and am now a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research where I develop policies to make fighting climate change more affordable.

I now want to bring my national experience back home to Wales to help represent a community I’m passionate about. If you want to know more about me, what I stand for, and what I’ll bring to Torfaen:
